This post was developed in partnership with Similac. All opinions are my own.
So far, the feeding journey with my son has been pretty easy. He was breastfed until he was 13 months old, would eat pretty much anything we sat in front of him once he started baby food at 6 months and easily transitioned to table food around a year old. That said, as my little man has become a toddler (he is now 18 months old) he is definitely getting more picky about what he eats.
Now that I see my son who once happily ate a plate of broccoli, go to the effort to pick the tiniest spec of green out of his meals, I know it is time to find alternative ways to make sure he is getting all of his nutritional needs met.
In comes Similac with their Go & Grow Pouches & Toddler Drink. Looking through the ingredients and benefits of these products, they definitely looked like a winner.

I have always been a big fan of pouches. They are the perfect snack when you are on the go and I love that many are way healthier than most snacks. My son’s favorite Similac Go & Grow Pouch flavor was Butternut Squash, Pumpkin, Banana, Carrot, Spinach, Broccoli. Isn’t it funny how my little guy who now picks out all of the greens from his meal loved the pouch with the most vegetables. Haha! Hey, I’ll take it!
We weren’t able to find these pouches in our local Walmart but they were really easy to purchase on Walmart.com. We chose 2-Day shipping with FREE store pickup. A couple days later we got an email that our package was ready to be picked up. Definitely a great option if your Walmart doesn’t have something you are looking for but it is available online and you want to avoid shipping charges.
- Each 8-fl-oz serving has over 25 vitamins and minerals
- Each serving has at least 30% Daily Value of iron, calcium, and vitamins C & E

To drink, my son was only given breast milk until he was 12 months old and then we started transitioning him to whole cow’s milk until we ended breastfeeding at 13 months. He took to cow’s milk very well so I never worried about formula and don’t really have any experience with it (although I have nothing against it). Similac’s Go & Grow Vanilla Toddler Drink is described as a complement to toddler nutrition so I decided to let my son try this drink out during his snack which replaced a time when he would usually get a cup of water since we only give him cow’s milk at meals.
To be honest, I was a little skeptical about whether he would like this toddler drink. In the past he has been offered formula and flat out rejected it. That, however, was not the case with this tasty drink (yes, I tried it). This kid grabbed the cup from me and sucked it down like he had been drinking it his whole life! The package that we got of this drink contained 16 packets of the milk-based powder making them another super convenient toddler snack for travelling.
Although neither of these products should replace healthy eating habits for your toddler, if you are worried about your little one meeting their nutritional needs, these are a great complement to their diet.
