Easy Peasy 3 Ingredient Baked Apples

Whenever possible I try to make my 12 month old son meals from fresh ingredients. It is usually a time suck but it is worth it knowing that I am giving my little guy a healthy meal. When there isn’t a lot of time to put together some elaborate meal, however, it is nice to have a stash of easy recipes I can whip out at a moment’s notice.

This morning I was looking at the fresh fruit I had and decided that I wanted to make some baked apples. Most recipes for baked apples have a lot ingredients including sugar, brown sugar and syrup. I’m not interested in giving any of these things to my son on a regular basis so I needed to come up with my own recipe.

Check below for the simple three ingredient baked apple recipe I came up with for my toddler who, by the way, loved them!


Easy Peasy 3 Ingredient Baked Apples


  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon


  1. Cut apple into chunks and place in glass bowl.
  2. Add coconut oil and cinnamon. Toss apple chunks until they are thoroughly coated.
  3. Place in microwave on high for 5 minutes.
  4. Let cool and serve!
